Wow! The first week of school was busy!
Thanks so much to Ms. Jan Baird, our guest political science speaker. Her pictures and stories from the Denver DNC Convention were fascinating. We also learned about the process of how someone becomes a delegate. Robert Baird, her son and legislative aide to local California Assemblyman Tony Mendoza, was also able to present on how a bill becomes a law in the state. Thanks again for helping our students understand the political process. In several weeks, Dianne Lenning, the 39th Congregessional Republican Candidate will also be speaking!.
Once again, we survived the LA County Fair! Many of you stayed late and enjoyed the days activities.
Just a reminder -- Every Monday, school is dismissed at 2 PM. We do offer complimentary childcare for that hour until 3, with our team of Coach Jer, Ms. Linda, and Mrs. Rojas.
Today, Tuesday, we kick off our Fall Fundraiser with an assembly at 2:30. Look for the booklets that will be coming home. Our students are already enjoying the new Basketball hoop that the PTF bought this year with the monies we have raised. Don't forget to bring in boxtop lables and campbell soup labels either.
Remember, come to the PTF meeting tonight! at 6:30 in the school building.
