Parent Letter - Wednesday September 10th

Parent Letter - Wed September 10

08-09-10 (Julian Date; September 10, 2008)

Thank you to all the parents who came out last night, signed yearbooks and were introduced to your teachers and classrooms.

For those unable to make it to the Back to School Night, please pick up or download copies of the handbook, revised school calendar and other important information. A reminder to all 5-8 grade parents, to get access to Head Master Online, please email me and I will send you your code.

We begin our 2008 Political Speakers Series tomorrow for our 5th – 8th graders with Mrs. Jan Baird, a recently returned delegate to the DNC in Denver and guest blogger for the Whittier Daily News. She will be joined by her son Robert, a legislative aide to local Assemblyman Tony Mendoza. All parents are invited to this guest lecture at 10 AM. Our series will continue in several weeks with Dianne Lenning, a former Fred C Nelles & Santa Fe Springs High School teacher now running as the Republican candidate for the 39th Congressional District.

LA FAIR
Friday is County Fair Day. Please turn in your permission slips and $5 per parent, child, spouse, etc (a family of 4=$20). This will let you have a parking pass to spend the entire day, or allow you to ride the bus. The bus will depart the fair at 2 PM in order to return by 3 PM that day.

PICTURE DAY
Next week Wednesday is picture day! Please make sure all students are dressed in their chapel best for Fall pictures. These will be the ones placed in the yearbook. During Spring Pictures, students will be allowed free dress.

BILLING REMINDERS
Don’t forget to turn in your payments within 1 week after receiving your billings. Prompt payments help us continue the improvements around campus. You may mail payments in to the school, or drop them off in the school or church offices. If you have a concern about your account, please do not hesitate to speak with me.

JOIN THE PTF
Are you ready to get involved? We need room parents, grant writers, and innovative thinkers. Even if you can’t be on campus, we probably can still use you. Help make your children’s education great! The next meeting is Tuesday, September 16th at 6 PM. Already this year, the PTF has hosted the campout, distributed yearbooks, purchased a storage shed, and a bought a brand new basketball hoop. Our next big event is our fall fundraiser kick off!
