Dear parents of 1st – 4th graders:
We have been forced to cancel the Knott’s Berry Farm field trip scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th.
As many of you know, Knott’s Berry Farm has strict controls for the safety of students in its educational tours. (This is not a theme park trip). The field trips are conducted by trained teachers addressing California State Standards in social sciences. Because of the nature of this, the students are kept separate from other groups in the park and no other adults, except school teachers are allowed to accompany them.
Knott’s also requires a minimum number of students to present this tour. In our case, we needed 48 students. We were able to keep the cost down to a minimum, anticipating that all of our students would be able to attend. Unfortunately, with the amount of students that are not able to attend, we can no longer afford to offer this field trip.
We have chosen instead to reschedule this field trip during January for the 1st – 6th graders. More information will be given in January with the specific dates.
Tuesday will be a regular school day at Palm View.
