It looks like a lot of students received new electronic games for Christmas.
Please remember, that our policy states that all electronic devices should be kept at home. If they do come to school, we are not liable for any loss or theft. Students can not utilize them during the school day (8 AM - 3 PM).
Our cell phone policy states that cell phones must be either off in their locker or if kept on their person, placed in front of them at their desk with the power turned off.
MP3's and I-pods are strictly forbidden during class times, unless it is part of a class project with prior approval from Mrs. Centmeyer or myself, or part of an alternative education plan.
Students violating these rules will have their devices confiscated and returned only in a parent conference.
Many of the new smart phones have internet capabilities. Since we are a wired campus, students can pick up the internet essentially anywhere on school and parking lot grounds. Parents have a responsibility to place safeguards on their students phones, review visited sites and text messages.
As we become an increasingly wireless world, our staff is working on creative ways to incorporate these devices into lesson plans. They are excellent tools if used responsibly.
