From the Desk of Mr. Miller (August 7, 2008)

FROM THE DESK OF MR. MILLER……………………

7 August 2008

The School year is rapidly approaching! The teachers come back in 2 ½ weeks, and students will be here in 4 weeks, on Wednesday, September 3rd at 8 AM.

This year’s theme is Go for the Gold! Our theme passage is from I Corinthians 9:24-25:

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

While we are on the subject of sports, let me introduce our new athletic director / PE Coach. As many of you know, Mr. G was able to cross the final hurdles and is moving to Modesto to work at Big Valley Christian High School. We are pleased to announce Mr. Jeremy Fowler as our new coach. Mr. Fowler is completing his M.A. degree at Biola/Talbot. Having played 3 high school varsity sports, as well as being an award winning collegiate baseball player, he is well qualified to step in and continue the tradition of sporting excellence.

If there are other ways you would like to get information, please let me know, and we will work on it.

If you’ve lost your copy of the supply list, uniform code, handbooks, or my letters, the website is an excellent place to get more information

BILLING REMINDERS

Introducing Mr. Jeremy Fowler, Athletic Director

Palm View is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Jeremy Fowler as our new Athletic Director and PE Coach for the 2008-09 school year.

Mr. Fowler is in his 2nd year of a MA program at BIOLA/Talbot. He comes highly recommended and is extremely qualified. Mr. Fowler was an award winning collegiate baseball player at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Il. He played 3 varsity high school sports and will be able to take our athletic program to the next level.

He currently attends North Hills Church in Brea, pastored by Doug Green. Please give him a warm welcome!

We are saddened to say goodbye again to Mr. G.

Mr. G, who has faithfully served Palm View for 4 years, has been able to accept a position at Big Valley Christian School in Modesto. While it looked like some things might have fallen through, it finally worked out for him and he is able to go. Congrats. Mr. G! We'll Miss you. Come visit soon!
