15 October 2009
Did you feel it? I felt the earth move under my feet for 2 minutes this morning as we participated in the
Great Shakeout. At 10:15 all of our students dropped, covered, and held on, after which we evacuated the buildings. We have asked the students to talk with you about home emergency preparedness today. It’s Important!
You also should be receiving a flyer from the SKILLS FOUNDATION announcing the annual
Red-Ribbon Pancake Breakfast on October 24th. Palm View’s banner is on Whittier Blvd near Bright St. We are one of the major sponsors this year. If you come, say hi to me at the Palm View Booth!
Red Ribbon Week is the 24th - 31st. This year we are Fighting Against Drugs, cami style.
• On Tuesday, Oct 27th, - Dress in RED!
• On Thursday, Oct 29th, Dress in cami’s (khaki, brown, green, etc)
Knock it out of the PARK!
In honor of the anticipated defeat of the Angels by the Dodgers in game 7 of the World series, we are beginning our Fall Compassion Campaign. We have teamed up with the church and with First Day Whittier to launch a campaign to aid the homeless and those in local transitional living facilities. Our chapel offerings from now through the end of the year will be going to FIRST DAY WHITTIER. We are also asking students to bring travel toiletries to donate in the offering.
To encourage participation, we are asking all students to
wear DODGER OR ANGEL attire instead of chapel uniforms for the entire month of October. On Sunday, November 1st, at 6 PM we are asking everybody to come and watch Game 4 of the world series with us. Admission is any donation to FIRST DAY WHITTIER. Dodger Dogs will be on sale for $1. Please help us show Christian compassion to our community in a fun way.

LUNCH NOTE – MICROWAVE USAGE
